FAIRFIELD, Conn. ? Infielder Courtney Hankins and pitcher Destinee Pallotto earned a spot on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Northeast All-Region Team. Both student-athletes were placed on the organization's regional third team based on vote by the region's head coaches. The appearances marked the second time that Hankins received the honor and the first time for Pallotto.
Megan Beach has been named to All-Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Second Team, as announced today by the organization. Beach was a shutdown defender for Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse on its run to the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship.
Fairfield University Swimming and Diving Head Coach Anthony Bruno announced today a total of 17 new additions to the men's and women's team for the upcoming 2018-19 season. This year's incoming class consists of seven swimmers and two divers for the women's team and seven swimmers and one diver for the men's team.
Seven Fairfield University athletic teams were cited for excellence in the classroom by receiving the NCAA's Public Recognition Award, given to programs which score in the top 10 percent of their sports in the most recent Academic Progress Rates. Women's Basketball, Field Hockey, Men's Golf, Women's Lacrosse, Softball, Men's and Women's Tennis, collected the award by achieving an Academic Progress Rate (APR) that ranked among the top 10 percent in their respective sport.
